Dr. Jiyoun Esther Hoh

Dr. Jiyoun Esther Hoh is a doctor at Care Comfort Cure, as well as a California board licensed acupuncturist and chiropractor. She earned her Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer West in 2009, and went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine, or TCM, at Five Branches University, graduating in 2013. Dr. Hoh has been teaching Fang Scalp acupuncture at Five Branches University since 2024. She continues to learn and apply various modalities in her practice.

Before coming to Care Comfort Cure, Dr. Hoh practiced chiropractic medicine at Sang Eon Kim Chiropractic Inc., where she treated complicated cases of scoliosis, common pain disorders, and sports injuries. As a traditional medicine practitioner, she studied Japanese Meridian Acupuncture with Dr. Hide Minami at the Holistic Health Center for over five years. In addition, she trained extensively in Tuina, Taichi, and Cranial Sacral Therapy with Dr. Jennifer Minor and Miranda Warburton.

Dr. Hoh was inspired to study medicine through personal experience of illness in her family. When Dr. Hoh was a teenager, her mother was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, a relatively unknown disease at that time. She saw her mother’s illness affect the entire family and grew up wanting others to be healthy. When her mother suffered a stroke, Dr. Hoh watched as her mother recovered quickly with the help of herbal medicine. However, after taking steroid medication for almost 30 years, her mother suffered spinal fractures due to severe osteoporosis as a side effect of the steroids. This inspired Dr. Hoh to seek alternatives to Western biomedicine.

Due to her personal experience, Dr. Hoh has a keen interest in scalp acupuncture, a common treatment for stroke patients. She is happy to study scalp acupuncture at Care Comfort Cure, and cares for her patients as though they are family.

Kathy suffered from severe swelling and pain in her right lower leg and foot. She previously had a kidney transplant 30 years ago and has since been taking immunosuppressant drugs. After a year of pain and difficulty walking, she sought treatment by Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Care Comfort Cure clinic. After treatment with acupuncture and herbs, her edema was resolved and she was able to drop her pain medication, including gabapentin. This is her testimonial.
