About the Course

Join us for a free 1 hour lecture to preview the course on Thursday, February 23rd, 8-9pm. We will discuss the use of basal body temperature to regulate the cycle. Registrants will also receive a link to the recording after the live event.

How can we regulate a woman’s irregular menstrual cycle with acupuncture? Which medicinal herbs can promote or ease a mother’s pregnancy and prevent miscarriage? How can we soothe menopausal hot flashes and mood swings?

In a time of birth control regulation of menses, IVF fertility procedures, and hormone therapy for menopause, Traditional Chinese Medicine shines as an alternative and complementary treatment for women’s health.

Many of the patients we see in a Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic are women; and, though it may not be their primary complaint, their hormonal balance and menstrual cycle may play a factor in their health concerns. For this reason, it’s important to understand the ebb and flow of yin and yang in the menstrual cycle, and which channels and organs to address when supporting the health of the reproductive system.

Course Objectives

In this course, students will learn how to diagnose and treat gynecological issues commonly seen in a Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic. This includes the following:

  • menstrual cycle irregularities and cyclical symptoms

  • perimenopause problems

  • supporting fertility (often in conjunction with IVF)

  • prenatal care, perinatal, and postnatal care for a mother

  • disorders such as endometriosis, breast and ovarian cysts and fibroids

Diagnosis techniques will include pulse and tongue analysis. Treatment modalities will follow Dr. Ching Ching Chi’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Unified Practice Method, which includes scalp and body acupuncture protocols, herbal formula combinations, as well as recommended dietary and lifestyle changes. Dr. Chi will use case studies from her clinical experience to discuss treatment efficacy.
