Dr. Terra Gabriela Cintas

Dr. Terra Gabriela Cintas is a doctor at Care Comfort Cure, completing her residency with a focus in scalp acupuncture. She earned her Master's and Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University with a specialty in Medical Qigong, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. 

Her path to Chinese medicine began unexpectedly in college, where she had initially set her sights on medical school. When her own health challenges arose, acupuncture became the tool that helped her heal and opened her up to a new path. She began shadowing acupuncturists, diving deeper into the medicine, and by the time she graduated she knew which direction to take. 

As she strived to live a more balanced life for her own health and wellbeing, it was fitting that she found an alternative medicine with balance as one of its core philosophies to healing. She was also drawn to its values in treating the mind, body, and spirit as a unified whole working together for harmony rather than separate parts with no interaction. 

Dr. Cintas is particularly passionate about scalp acupuncture, a specialty that bridges the classical foundations of Chinese medicine with modern biomedical neuroscience. She finds it a remarkable and highly effective framework for treating patients, and appreciates that it speaks to both modern and ancient medical systems simultaneously. She uses it to treat a large variety of issues, including both chronic diseases as well as pain and traumatic injuries. 

Outside the clinic, she is also a certified yoga teacher and Medical Qigong Practitioner, and finds restoration in the outdoors -- surfing, hiking, and anything that puts her in nature. These pursuits reflect the same philosophy she brings to her practice: that healing is found in balance, listening to the body, and knowing how to support the innate ability for your body to heal itself.
